Character
Duty Calls
Duty is acting on behalf of a greater good or principle even when one does not feel like it. Sometimes it also takes courage
Kindness is contagious
Kindness is the act of doing something, anything — no matter how small — that we perceive will make someone else’s situation better.
Disappointment can build character
Experiencing disappointment? Sometimes, when time passes, we realize that not getting what we thought we wanted turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Inspire loyalty
“Follow me” is an invitation, not a demand or a threat. Followers are volunteers and true believers, not conscripts.
Act like it
We demonstrate behaviors either because we are practicing the behaviors that we want to become second nature to us, or because we are acting from our true character formed from our values.
Wake up grateful
Each of us is here now because of all that preceded us. We live in our time and place because of those who lived in theirs and made us possible.
Your character is what you make of your soul
Our character contributes to the character of the world around us, whether the family, the workplace, the neighborhood, whatever your sphere of influence might be.
Your character speaks
How do we determine what character traits make up a person? Listen to their speech.
Show honor
We pause from our busy lives to esteem those worthy of honor. To be credible, we establish standards for honor and protect them from being corrupted.
Confirm your faithfulness
Confirming our faithfulness to our values, relationships, and causes asks us to pause, reflect, and re-affirm that we are still on the course we initially chose for the reasons we originally believed.
Purge the toxic with the pure and positive
Toxic influences and personalities will damage us. If we cannot avoid them, we should keep our guard up.
Earth is my home and all creatures my family
I gazed into the starry night skies of both mountains and plains unpolluted by urban lights and mouthed the words to \my favorite hymn, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed.
