“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

Jesus, the Confronting Christ

If you met Jesus today, would he be what you expected? Those who met him when he walked the earth expected something different.

He asked his disciples, “Who do men say that I am?” The opinions varied. Even those closest to him were not clear about his mission or his message. But one thing was clear from the gospel accounts–Jesus managed to quickly get to the heart of the issues of what people needed to deal with in their lives.

I found these confrontations fascinating, and I decided to write about them. This is a look between the lines, a blend of scripture and conjecture about what it might have been like to be on the receiving end of Jesus’ compassion, and challenges to see him through spiritual eyes.

I think you will find the individual encounters thought provoking. You will find study questions in the back of the book for each chapter to help you use the text in your discussion groups or for individual study.

I hope you find the stories as INPowering to read as I found them to write.
